Kevin Chappell shoots 59 at The Greenbrier

Kevin Chappell shot on at an 11-under 59 on Friday in the second round of A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, to List only the Around that was 11th .

In doing this, the American equalled his compatriot Mark Calcavecchia’s set of nine consecutive birdies in a round on the PGA Tour, place at the 2009 Canadian Open.
Chappell – playing since returning after 10 months out after surgery – missed a 10-foot birdie putt to the par-four ninth in the course at West Virginia to fall into a stroke short of the championship record of Jim Furyk.
The 33-year-old opened with a par then birdied the next eight holes prior to incorporating further birdies, to make the turn in 28 and is currently 10 under for the tournament, with opened with a 71.
Furyk set the listing with a 58 2016 in the final round of this Travelers Championship.
It was the very first sub-60 around on the PGA Tour because Brandt Snedeker’s 59 in the 2018 Wyndham Championship.
Stuart Appleby took at 59 to win by a stroke at its season.
