Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s parties at the final whistle at Stamford Bridge offered a window into the importance of success.
Klopp’s impact on Liverpool in that period has been in making them, culminating champions for the first time time with victory over Tottenham in Madrid in June.
And Klopp’s record in national affairs is powerful, in that time span only bettered with his tally of all 92 victories.
It did not quite bring the name last season, when Manchester City pipped them despite Liverpool dropping only 1 league match – but revived belief is surging by those fans who celebrated by Klopp at the close of this 2-1 triumph over Chelsea that gave the Reds maximum points from six games.
This really is a record-breaking Liverpool side building the stage for the things they and Klopp hope will be the yield of the league name – their holy grail – after a 30-year wait.
Liverpool dug deep to win on Sunday and eventually become the first group to take maximum points.
They’ve now won their past 15 league games, with competitions City putting together a run that was more in top-flight history, even when they won 18 between August and December 2017.
Few name wins are pretty as a picture since a number of those goal-fests Liverpool have levied on opponents in his previous 149 games but these three factors will be pleasing to the eye of Klopp.
Since Klopp rightly stated:”You will never triumph at Chelsea without placing a proper change in and we did that today.
“It is exceptional. What could I say? We must keep going. It never appears as easy as it did for Manchester City from Watford but we have not had these matches yet. We have had to work for this ”
Klopp is usually animated however, also the body language from his field at Stamford Bridge was telling, either during and after a game where Liverpool were placed under stress than they’ve been for some time.
He was nonstop in the first whistle, and especially when Chelsea threatened to wash out their two-goal lead.
Klopp fist-pumped his torso at the players’ management, exhorting greater effort. Rows were carried by the German’s shouts back into the racks. He chased up and down to the place when possession was squandered. He participated fourth official Kevin Friend and Chelsea counterpart Frank Lampard on more than one event in lengthy conversation.
And then, when the last whistle went , the bliss of Klopp was apparent before tapping his soul in front of Liverpool’s joyous support as he travelled around every member of his team and players.
In the area of those 150 Premier League games Klopp has had a transformative impact on Liverpool, fulfilling his initial mission to”flip doubters into believers” and then a few.
Not many of the team from Klopp’s opening game off to Spurs October 2015 stay. At Chelsea, Adam Lallana and James Milner were to the bench while Divock Origi is out injured.
No-one have to underestimate the brilliance and resilience in responding to conquer at Norwich by thrashing Watford of Manchester City, not just but also the way they passed stayed before Liverpool last season.
What is telling you, however, is that Liverpool’s Champions League win decorations not sated it and seems to have sharpened their desire for achievement. The Premier League has become their avowed mission.
They’ve shown themselves capable of distinct kinds of victories and this was among the variety, but equally valuable and supplying Klopp a peek at the following face of their group.
Liverpool were nowhere near their best however, it is but one of the fantastic old adages of a Premier League year the key to success is winning on exactly those occasions.
And, as a bonus, Liverpool will also be capable of several types of targets.
The moves along with individual brilliance from the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane really are a familiar sight.
However, equally from routines, Firmino’s header and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strong strike, meant Liverpool have scored 34 objects from set-pieces than every other team, seven more since the start of last year.
If Liverpool aren’t performing at their finest, Klopp still needs courage, intensity, commitment – another types of excellence and quality he has drilled into his negative over 150 games.
Those qualities were needed here. The demands of Klopp were delivered on by liverpool – and the Anfield juggernaut rolls .
