Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhuttl wary of Tottenham’s quality

Tottenham are”even more dangerous” following a bad run of results that has left them like a injured boxer, states Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Spurs have won four of their past 17 games – after losing on penalties against League 2 Colchester United, and on Tuesday night that they crashed at the third round out of this Carabao Cup.
Hasenhuttl takes his Saints side-by-side London on Saturday -“it’s a major challenge, but we like such struggles” – and also the Austrian is wary of facing the wrath of a frustrated Spurs team.
“As always, like a fighter, if he is knocked a little bit he is even more dangerous, so pay attention.” , stated Hasenhuttl ahead of Saturday’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“We don’t look too much on these. I believe that it’s important for us to focus on our qualities. We like these challenges, although we are aware that it is a big obstacle.
“Our past away games were quite good – much better than our house games – therefore we are not scared about this particular match, we love to go there.
“It’s on us, and how we think in our possessions and the way we know to compete against the large teams away from home. If we don’t do this it’s difficult, in away games it must be ideal.
“It is never an advantage against a significant team if they’re struggling since you must remain aware of the quality they have. We expect the hardest opponent we could imagine.”
Spurs director Mauricio Pochettino attained amazing success in their own spell carrying them to an eight-placed end in the Premier League – the greatest in the club’s history.
Hasenhuttl is a admirer of the predecessor Pochettino that he says took Spurs”from a really struggling team to a Champions League finalist”.
“I think he did a great job in Tottenham. I think it is unbelievable the job he can there,” added Hasenhuttl.
Last year Hasenhuttl was successful at his first meeting against Pochettino – though the Argentine wasn’t present from the dugout owing to his rant at referee Mike Dean.
“Last year, he wasn’t permitted to take a seat on the bench, so perhaps that is the reason why we were able to take the 3 points,” he further added.
“I really don’t know how we won this match since they should’ve been up in the first half. Therefore it was a very good second half. We had a few subs in the half-time and we all took risks.
“If you wish to take points from such a group, you want a nearly perfect performance, and even then you are not sure.”
